A new modification of the point-contact spectroscopic method proposed here is based on the excitation of monoenergetic electrons in a metal and permits the reconstruction of the electron–phonon interaction (EPI) function g(ω) by using “dirty” contacts. It is shown that the charge carrier distribution function, appearing as a result of their inelastic relaxation, and containing peculiarities coinciding with those of the function g(ω), can be determined by the transverse electron focusing method.
