Annotatsiya
The conduction of surface electrons localized at the superfluid helium surface is investigated under superheating of the electron layer. It is shown that a resonance-type singularity is observed in the dependence of conductivity on confining field. This singularity is due to the excitation of second sound in helium by the surface electron layer, the wavelength of the second sound being a multiple of the thickness of the liquid layer above the electrode. This method of excitation can be used in designing sensors ensuring second sound generation under low heat release.
