Annotatsiya

The longitudinal magnetoresistance ρxx of the surface electron (SE) layer over liquid helium is measured in magnetic fields up to 6 kOe at temperatures T up to 0.4 K. It is shown that the dependence ρxx(T) in a constant magnetic field is in the form of a curve with a maximum and a minimum. Such a behavior of ρxx is in agreement with the theoretical concepts developed by Yu. P. Monarkha [Fiz. Nizk. Temp. 17, 146 (1991)] and is attributed to the quantum nature of charge movement in the liquid–vapor interface under conditions of competition of gas and rippion mechanisms of SE scattering.
