Annotatsiya

The magnetoconductance σxx of the surface electron layer over liquid helium is measured in the temperature range 0.5–1.6 K for concentrations up to 4 · 108 cm −2 and in magnetic fields up to 25 kOe. It is found that σxx decreases with temperature at first, passes through a minimum, and begins to rise slightly for T < 1 K. The value of the longitudinal magnetoresistance ρxx has been determined from the obtained data by taking into account the anomalous behavior of the magnetoresistance ρxy established earlier. The calculated temperature dependence of ρxx is in satisfactory agreement with the anomalous dependence ρxx(T) established earlier in experiments.
