Effect of rotation of molecules on heat transport in solid SF6

The isochoric thermal conductivity and thermal pressure of solid SF6 are investigated in the temperature interval 180–250 K. It is found that the isochoric thermal conductivity increases with temperature, while the isobaric thermal conductivity decreases under the same conditions. The relation between the temperature dependence of thermal conductivity and the nature of orientational motion of molecules is discussed.
