The manifestation of a superconducting gap was observed experimentally in the temperature dependence of the absorption coefficient κ at a frequency fixed in the interval 1.5–3.0 eV. The temperature dependence of κ has a kink at the point Tc: above Tc, it displays a linear dependence, while below Tc it has a singularity mainly repeating the temperature dependence of the gap. The observed effects are of an equilibrium nature and are interpreted in terms of equilibrium electron characteristics.
