Quasilocalized surface waves at a plane defect in a crystal and “leaky waves”

Localized and quasilocalized long-wave vibrations near a plane defect in a homogeneous elastic isotropic medium are investigated. The eigensolutions of such a boundary-value problem, which correspond to pseudosurface waves whose phase velocities lie in the interval ct<c<cl (where ct and cl are the velocities of transverse and longitudinal sound respectively), are obtained.
