On the phase diagram of CD4-Kr
Annotatsiya
X-ray diffraction studies are carried out in CD4–Kr solid solutions from helium temperatures to their melting point in the krypton concentration range 20–35%. Phase separation boundaries on the equilibrium diagram are refined. At T > 24 K, a region of coexistence of two phases with identical fee symmetry but different molar volumes and, apparently, different degrees of retardation of rotational motion of deuteromethane molecules in them, has been discovered. This region corresponds to a krypton concentration 28–33% in deuteromethane at 24 K with a critical concentration xc ≃ 29% Kr. It is established that unlike other binary cryosolutions, the system under investigation is characterized by a narrower region of separation into two isomorphic phases [∼(5±2)%] and the lowest value of the critical temperature (∼52 K).
