Annotatsiya

Anisotropic properties of excitons and holes in cubic symmetry crystals are investigated and the quasiparticle polarization is assigned a preferred direction. Such an anisotropy is manifested clearly in insulators with an atomic type ground state since overlapping of valence p–states of neighboring atoms depends strongly on the angle between the lattice vector and the polarization direction. The anisotropy of the exciton- and hole dispersion relations is studied. It is shown that this anisotropy considerably affects the self-localization barrier.
