On the damping of quasifiexural waves in layered conductors

The contribution of charge carriers to the absorption of quasifiexural elastic waves in conducting layered crystals is calculated. It is shown that the quadratic energy-momentum relation for such waves together with the quasi-two-dimensional nature of the electron energy spectrum of layered conductors leads to an unusual frequency dependence of the absorption coefficient.
