Annotatsiya

Transmission spectra have been measured in a KEr(MoO4)2 single crystal in the longwave IR range (14–40 cm−1) at temperatures 4.2 and 2 K in an external magnetic field. Three absorption bands with frequencies 15.4, 26, and 30.5 cm−1 have been observed. It is shown that if the external magnetic field H is oriented parallel to the a-axis of the KEr(MoO4)2 crystal, a kink is observed at Hc∼9 kOe in the frequency-field dependence of the splitting of the 15.4 cm−1 band. It is suggested that this singularity is associated with the structural phase transition induced by an external magnetic field.
