Magnetoplasmons in a system of surface electrons in helium at a boundary between regions with different charge densities

Plasma waves in the form of edge magnetoplasmons at a boundary between two regions with different densities of surface electrons localized above superfluid helium are investigated experimentally. Measurements are performed at a temperature of 1.1 K in magnetic fields up to 0.2 T. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical prediction that the velocity of edge magnetoplasmons depends linearly on the difference between the electron densities, whereas the Q of magnetoplasmon resonance depends nonlinearly on this difference.
