D-T Neutron Penetrating Quality Measurement of Iron and Engineering Plastic(In Chinese)

Cylindrical samples of iron(the model is Q235)and engineering plastic were irradiated using D-T neutron source at ns-200 accelerator,the sample isφ30 cm×10 cm.The neutron penetration of samples were measured withφ5.08 cm×5.08 cm BC501A liquid scintillator detector.The environment neu- tron background has been measured and deduced using shadow-cone method. The energy linearity of detector system was scaled by ~(22)Na standardγ/source. The neutron flux at the target was monitored using associated-αparticle meth- od.γbackground was deduced by(n,γ)pulse shape discrimination technolo- gy.In low energy region,the neutron count loss caused by(n,γ)discrimina- tion is corrected by Gauss simulation through two-dimension MCA system.The iron's D-T neutron penetration is 0.408 and the engineering plastic's is 0.73. It is showed that D-T neutron penetrating quality of the engineering plastic is superior to the iron's.
