Measurement of Lutecium (n,2n) Cross Sections

The 27Al(n,α)24Na cross sections were set as the standard cross sections,measurements of the cross sections of the Lutecium(n,2n)reactions to produce 174mLu,174gLu were made for a range of neutron energy from 13.4 to 14.6 MeV.The samples were irradiated at various positions on the surface of a 10 cm radius cirque.The intensity of neutron source is monitored by the α-particles from the T(d,n)He reaction.The K-400 accelerator offered D-T neutron source.It spent 30 h to radiate sample with neutron.The induced neutron energy is determined using ratio of Nb and Zr cross section.The sample activated gamma ray is measured using GEM60P HPGe detector.The HPGe detector efficiency is calibrated by standard gamma source.The cross sections were obtained by measuring 992.13 keV and 1 241.76 keV two gamma rays from 174Lu.The cross sections of 175Lu(n,2n)are 1 973~2 116 mb.The relative uncertainty is about 3.5%.The results are compared with the others' and evaluated data.
