Bio-activities of botanical active substances on Aleurodicus disperses Russell

The spiraling whitefly Aleurodicus disperses Russell, is a new invasive pest in Hainan Island. Active substances were extracted from 6 plants, Catharanthus roseus, Wedelia chinensis, Mimosa pudica, Eupatorium catarium, Semen Ricini and Bougainvillea spectabilis, by ultrasonic extraction, and tested the bioactivity to the adults and larvae of spiraling whitefly. The results indicated that all the extracts of 6 plants had insecticidal activity. The extracts of Catharanthus roseus showed the best activity on A. disperses and the LC50were 5.07 mg/mL and 10.02 mg/mL against adults and larvae of the spiraling whitefly.
