Annotatsiya

This chapter deals with a novel method for the destruction of chloroorganic compounds based on the application of colloidal nanocarbon–metal compositions (NCMC) as nanophotocatalysts (NPC) dispersed on polluted open land. We have synthesized nanocarbon–metal oxide nanocomposites (NCMC) with TiO2 as the metal oxide in the NPC. The average size of nanoparticles was 6 ± 2 nm. NPC under ultraviolet (UV) and natural UV radiations form OH radicals in the presence of water molecules, and the radicals decompose chloroorganic compounds. The photodegradation of dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane, aldrin (C12H8Cl6), lindane (C6H6Cl6), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) by NCMC (Ti) has been studied. The main advantage of NPC is their ability to destroy organic compounds under sunlight in a short time of 5–8 h.
