Using density test forest of Pinus massoniana superior family as object,the effect of different planting densities on the growth and output value of forest was analyzed. Results showed that effect of planting density on growth of tree height was not obvious. Average DBH,individual volume and the preserving rate decreased with planting density increasing. The ratio of height to diameter and stand volume increased with planting density increasing. Effect of planting density on stand DBH structure was obvious,Low preserving rate would have harmful impact on high- density stand volume. Effect of using superior family to afforest on promoting stand productivity was remarkable. In order to reduce construction costs and gain higher economic returns,planting density with 2 500 plant / hm2 in cultivating large or middle diameter timber was suitable. Planting density with 4 444 plant / hm2 in cultivating short rotation industrial timber was suitable.
