In this article, a mathematical model has been developed in the form of a system of functional -differential equations with a delay argument for studying the regulatory mechanisms of cardiac activity. To simplify the qualitative and quantitative analysis, a reduction method was applied, as a result of which the system of functional differential equations was reduced to a simplified form as a single equation. The results of a qualitative analysis of the mathematical model are presented. On base of the results, the equilibrium points of the mathematical model are determined and the results of testing their stability are presented.
