A twin-axle two-axle trailer 2PTS-4-793A is a vehicle that is aggregated with a tractor and forms a freight train. Vibration moves in the horizontal plane under the influence of traction, weight, transverse elastic and rolling resistance of the wheels, inertia, random reaction forces of the base plane, stabilizing moments and other factors. The oscillating motion of a tractor train consisting of a tractor and a single-axle trailer has been thoroughly studied by scientists. The horizontal vibrational motion of a torsion wheel and a two-axle trailer has not yet been studied within a mechanical system. Therefore, the determination of amplitudes and frequencies of vibration, analytical expressions that allow to assess the impact of these parameters on the stability of the train are not obtained. The purpose of this work is to address this shortcoming. During the study, the expressions of the kinetic energy and generalized resistance forces of the system with respect to the generalized coordinates (angles of rotation) were derived. Using Lagrange's second type equations, a system of differential equations of free oscillations of a two-axle trailer was constructed. Ways to search for system-specific solutions have been suggested.
