The investigation of Euphemisms and the problems of Cultural Translation in Linguistics

In the present article, an attempt has been made to study euphemisms in the translation process when the target and source languages have various cultural backgrounds. The framework within which this study is done is the face-work and politeness theories. From these standpoints, the authors claim that culture can place more emphasis on the use of euphemistic expressions, while a translator is translating from one language into another
