Abstract: in the article, the technology of preparation of students for innovative activity is considered on the basis of a program of study of socio-psychological characteristics of innovative activity with students. In the higher education system, conditional stages of successful orientation of students to innovative activity are allocated. Approaches to preparation of students for innovative activities are analyzed systematically, based on their results methodological approach, theoretical approach, psychological approach, active approaches are considered.
