This article discusses the main ways to improve the quality of speech, ways to improve speech-thinking activity. The substantiation is given of why competent speech is so important for a person, why he is able to speak correctly. The article also reflects the interdependence of speech and thinking. The article presents speech is acquired during life in the process of socialization and the formation of personality. During this period, it is so important to instill in a child speech, because the main problem of inability to use one’s speech competently is insufficient attention to the education of speech culture - the education of competent speech-thinking activity.
