Annotatsiya

Gamma irradiation leads to a change in the crystallite size and crystallinity of low-density polyethylene. Under irradiation with a dose of 100 kGy, the crystallinity and crystallite size of the polymer increase by 41.83% and 0.64 nm, respectively. At a dose of 900 kGy, the crystallinity is 46.7% and the crystallite size decreases by 0.26 nm. The unit cell parameters of the orthorhombic phase of the polymer remain almost unchanged in this case. The results obtained show the degree of crystallinity of the polymer linearly depends on the absorbed γ-radiation dose.
