DIGITAL ECONOMY: CONCEPTS AND REALITY

Abstract: This article analyzes the theoretical and methodological problems of the digital economy. Particular attention is paid to the cognitive trend of the explications of the digital economy in terms of their methodological validity. The role and significance of the phenomenon of digitalization in the deployment of the digital economy is highlighted. A new construct (concept) “digital economic revolution” is being introduced. The generalizing function of this concept is revealed. The necessity of a generally accepted, with a more or less established meaning, the concept of the digital economy is substantiated.
