Abstract The article presents the results of the study of a linter machine with steel gaskets in an industrial environment. An analysis of the structures of aluminum saw gaskets was conducted, and their main shortcomings were established. To eliminate the shortcomings of aluminum gaskets, technical solutions were proposed. For this purpose, a new design of saw gaskets with steel pads for cotton gins was proposed. Steel gaskets for linter machines were made. The dimensions of the saw cylinder with steel gaskets after assembly are determined. The main energy indices of the saw cylinder electric motor were determined. The current in the electric motor of the saw cylinder was 41.6 A. In addition, an increase in the productivity of the linter machine with steel gaskets by 50 kg/h was established due to the precise assembly of the saw cylinder. The results of studying a linter machine with steel gaskets in production showed the possibility of using a steel saw gasket when assembling the saw cylinders of a linter machine.
