This article explores the impact of Internet communications on public opinion in the context of the formation of a digital society. At the same time, the importance of information received by people from the global Internet, which is growing with the advent of the digital society, is revealed. The article also discusses the reasons for expanding the capabilities of the computer information system, the rapid increase in the number of websites of various content, the increasing relevance of the problem of information extremism on the Internet. In addition, a study was made of the creation of communication structures containing signs of destructive activity, the psychological impact of data on a person through a computer network, the use of information on the Internet in content for an audience that does not understand their real content.
