The article describes the features of the nature of Central Asia, the dependence of socio-economic development on land and water resources, the agricultural potential of land and water resources. It discusses the importance of irrigated agriculture in the economy of the coutriyes of the region and the geographical aspects of its optimal development. Also, the formation of agricultural landscapes, the geoecological state and the problems of optimizing their use.
