Annotatsiya

Coronavirus disease 2019 - (COVID-19) is a disease caused by a new coronavirus, now called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2; formerly called 2019-nCoV), that was first identified during a respiratory disease outbreak in the city Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. This was originally reported to WHO on 31 December 2019. On the date of 30 January 2020, WHO declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a global health emergency. On March 11, 2020, WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, following the declaration of H1N1 influenza as a pandemic in 2009. SARS-CoV-2 infection is initiated by penetration through the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or conjunctiva in the form of droplets or infected fomites. This virus tends to spread in the body by direct expansion of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, although mild viremia has also been considered.
