The flow of a viscous liquid (gas) in a flat pipe with a porous insert is studied. The process of viscous fluid flow in the combined region is modeled by a single equation based on multiphase media. In this case, the Navier-Stokes equations for the free zone follow from this equation, and in the region with a porous insert, we obtain an equation that generalizes the Darcy equation. For a numerical solution, the SIMPLE algorithm is generalized. A non-uniform mesh is used. For the strength of interfacial interaction, the Kozeny-Karman relations are used. The influence of the geometric shape of the bulk layer on the nature and magnitude of the inhomogeneity of the flow velocity behind the barrier is shown. Accounting for the shape of a porous medium significantly affects the flow parameters. The results of numerical simulation are compared with experimental data.
