ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES: ESSENCE, MEASUREMENTS AND INSTRUMENTS

The article substantiates the need for economic diversification in developing countries and shows the benefits of its implementation. A methodology for measuring the degree of economic diversification using the Global Economic Diversification Index is described. Based on the study of foreign experience, the main directions of the economic diversification strategy are identified.
