Annotatsiya

Briefly described the history of uranium searches and mining in Central Asia. Data on waste volumes are given. The forms and paths of radionuclides and toxic chemical elements migration from waste under the traditional mining into the environment in conditions of mountains and deserts are shown. Herewith, the environmental pollution from mining waste is most intensively appears in orogenic mountain watered areas of the region, and less intensively appears in sub-platform arid areas to the west of the Tien Shan. The natural-technogenic process of self-recultivation of an ore-containing layer on sandstone-type uranium deposits during their mining by the method of underground leaching is described.
