The article presents a study of the influence of tungsten carbide powder grain size on the physical and mechanical properties of tungsten carbide and cobalt (WC+Co) solid alloy samples. Based on the obtained results, changes in the allowable transverse bending strength limit, compressive strength limit, and yield limit of tungsten carbide and cobalt hard alloy samples depending on the dWC-granularity were studied. It was found that the efficiency of cutting potassium salt rocks with tungsten carbide-based hard alloy tools depends more on the plasticity resource than on the static strength of the hard alloy.
