Conceptual approaches to the development of the domestic transport system in the 1950-90s

The article examines the contribution of scientists of the 1950–1990s. in the construction of a Unified Transport System, as well as solving problems of optimizing transport operations based on an integrated approach to managing traffic flows of different types of transport and the interaction of transport with sectors of material production. The main theoretical and practical areas of research by Soviet transport economists are systematized, and the current difficulties in the development of transport infrastructure are analyzed.
