This work presents a numerical study of the ballistic characteristics of monolithic, two-and threelayer metal and ceramic (composite) plates made of steel (or aluminum or a combination thereof) and ceramic fillers.Numerical models using the explicit ABACUS finite element diagram have been developed.The work found ballistic characteristics for monolithic composite slabs.Layered plates with a thin face of a plate made of aluminum and a thick steel sheet exhibit greater strength compared to multilayered steel plates of the same density.
