The article presents analytical and simulation models of functional processes of router operation as a mass service system. The analytical model is based on the adequacy of models built in the GPSS World and AnyLogic simulation environments. Using the simulation model, an analysis of such qualitative parameters of the router as the probability of packet loss, the average length of the queue in the buffer, the time spent in the system and the average waiting time in the buffer was carried out.
