Annotatsiya

This paper presents the results of a three-dimensional (3D) numerical simulation of the high-velocity impact of a thin-walled steel sphere onto the surface of a deformable soil. The problem is solved using the finite element method (FEM) within an Eulerian formulation, which allows for the accurate modeling of large deformations and the crater formation process without finite element mesh degradation. The soil is modeled with an elastoplastic material model incorporating the Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion.A detailed analysis of the dynamics of the system's stress-strain state is conducted, including the distribution of von Mises stress, maximum principal stresses, and zones of accumulated plastic strain. The results demonstrate the complex interaction mechanism between the impactor and the target, which involves stress wave propagation, plastic flow of the soil, and cratering. The high effectiveness of the Eulerian approach for solving this class of problems is shown.
