Tashkent Modernism: Problems of Preservation and New Prospects

With an emphasis on preserving Tashkent's modernism, this research examines how art and architecture have shaped Uzbekistan's cultural legacy and global standing. With its rich cultural and historical legacy, Uzbekistan aspires to reestablish its customs and establish a prominent position internationally. Established in 2017 under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's suggestion, the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF) has been actively involved in conserving Tashkent's modernist architecture in recent years, highlighting the distinctive styles that have influenced the city's appearance. "Tashkent Modernism XX/XXI" is a significant Foundation project that aids in identifying and conserving the region's cultural uniqueness. The study's findings highlight the value of architectural heritage as a tool for accomplishing Uzbekistan's strategic objectives in the areas of cultural and economic development, as well as the fact that cultural initiatives not only enhance the nation's reputation abroad but also open doors for communication between the past and present.
