Calculating the number of species belonging to the genus Citellus by accounting for vertical and inclined burrows
Annotatsiya
This article is dedicated to a thorough examination of the methodologies for counting species belonging to the Citellus genus within the Sciuridae family in the field of rodentology. Existing research indicates that the current counting methods in this area are insufficiently developed and require new approaches based on ecological studies. Between 2021 and 2024, research conducted in the southern regions of Uzbekistan systematically analyzed the burrows, colonies, and population dynamics of these species. The development of new methods and their practical testing for supporting scientific advancements in the field of rodentology. Furthermore, these studies highlight the importance of preserving the biological diversity of rodents and ensuring the stability of ecosystems.
