Annotatsiya

This research work is aimed at synthesizing photon-active adsorbents from locally available minerals, combining high sorption capacity with advanced optical properties. The bentonite obtained from local sources was chemically modified using special organic and inorganic agents for surface chemistry and micro-nano structure engineering. The resulting materials demonstrated not only improved adsorption properties for heavy metal ions in an aqueous medium, but also clear photonic responses such as structural color change, refractive index modulation, and light scattering. Optical characterization, conducted using UV-Vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence, and diffuse reflection analysis, showed that adsorbents can be dual-functional materials, serving simultaneously as both effective sorbents and optical indicators of pollutant loading. The integration of photon properties into mineral-based adsorbents creates new opportunities in the development of inexpensive, stable, and multifunctional materials for application in environmental control, water purification, and sensing applications.
