With modern advances in post-consumer PET recycling processes, various mechanical and chemical methods are used in the production of food packaging materials and synthetic fibers. Currently, the process of preserving the quality of food and beverages by modifying plastic containers for food packaging, namely polyethylene terephthalate (PET), is widely used in industry. The main disadvantage is that PET is subject to degradation and degradation during processing and environmental conditions, which reduces its performance properties. Therefore, it becomes an environmentally friendly raw material when recycled. However, during the recycling process, an increase in the degree of crystallization of the partially secondary polyethylene terephthalate structure is observed. In this study, differential scanning calorimetry and IR spectroscopy analysis of mixed and single-color secondary polyethylene terephthalate (SPET) raw materials samples were investigated. As a result, it was found that the modification in the structure of SPET raw materials processed by 2 different methods leads to an increase in the degree of crystallization of the polymer as a result of increasing the number of heat treatment steps of SPET.
