This article explores the historical development and contemporary state of theaters and cinemas in Uzbekistan. It analyzes the origins of theatrical art and film production in the early twentieth century, highlighting the influence of traditional performance forms, Soviet cultural policies, and national identity formation. The study examines the establishment of professional theaters, the emergence of Uzbek cinema, and their role in educating society and preserving cultural heritage. Special attention is given to the post-independence period, during which theaters and cinemas underwent significant reforms, modernization, and creative renewal. The article also discusses the impact of digital technologies, private initiatives, and international cooperation on the modern cultural landscape of Uzbekistan. By comparing past and present stages, the research demonstrates how theaters and cinemas continue to serve as vital institutions for artistic expression, social dialogue, and cultural continuity.
