Annotatsiya

Bimaristans of the Muslim world were special institutions where medical care was organized on a professional basis; they were not only places of treatment, but also centers of medical training. Bimaristans reached their heyday in the classical period, but continued to exist in subsequent times. The article is devoted to the study of the organization and functions of Bimaristans in the Mongol and post-Mongol eras, when the Hulaguid and Jalair Dynasties were in power in Iran. The object of the study is a sample of the yarligpresented in the work by Muhammad b. Hindushakh Nakhchivani “Dastur al-katib fi tayin al-maratib”. The purpose of this study is to introduce a new historical source reflecting the organization of hospital care in Iran in the 13th–14th centuries into the Russian-language academic circulation and to determine the features of this process in the Genghisid and post-Genghisid eras. The problems of the organization of hospital care in the Muslim world have been the subject of study by many scholars, primarily foreign ones, but yarlig samples in particularhave not yet been subjected to academic analysis. The study of this document allows us to conclude not only that the position of the head of Bimaristan was represented in the administrative structure of medieval Iran, but also to shed light on the structure and functions of this institution in the 13th–14th centuries, which, with the establishment of a new political regime, did not undergo significant changes compared with the previous period of development.
