POET, SCHOLAR AND TRAVELER: THE IMAGE OF ASIRIDDIN AKHSIKATI

Abstract: This article examines the life and creative legacy of Asiriddin Akhsikati, one of the prominent representatives of 12th-century Uzbek classical literature. It analyzes the poet’s scholarly and artistic views formed within the literary environment of ancient Akhsikent, his life spent in exile, and the reflection of this experience in his qasidas and ghazals. The study highlights the expression of a critical spirit, philosophical reflection, and themes such as the fate of the individual and the age, friendship, longing for homeland, and love in Akhsikati’s works. Furthermore, the article explores the harmony between scientific concepts and artistic imagery in the poet’s writings, revealing his distinctive qualities as a poet-scholar. This paper was originally published in the proceedings of the Republican scientific-practical conference held at Namangan State Pedagogical Institute on November 29, 2025 (Namangan, Uzbekistan).
