Thermal Analysis of Conversion Products Derived from Phosphogypsum and Natural Gypsum
Annotatsiya
This study investigates the scientific foundations for the environmentally and economically viable processing of phosphogypsum (PG), the primary waste from phosphoric acid manufacturing. Its main objective is a comparative analysis of converting natural gypsum (NG) and phosphogypsum using ammonium carbonate ((NH4)2CO3) to produce valuable calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and ammonium sulfate, alongside characterizing the thermal properties of the raw materials and products. The conversion process was evaluated using thermal analysis, a critical method for assessing reaction efficiency, product stability, and material characteristics. This approach provides essential data on the thermal behavior and decomposition profiles of the substances involved.
