Developing A National-Cultural Approach In Students Through Teaching Music Theory In Music Education

This article analyzes the issues of developing a national-cultural approach in students through teaching music theory in the process of music education from a scientific, theoretical and methodological perspective. The study highlights the educational opportunities of music theory disciplines (solfeggio, harmony, analysis of musical works, polyphony) in an inextricable link with the study of national musical heritage, traditional scale systems, the basics of maqom, and samples of folk music. It also reveals the pedagogical content of the national-cultural approach and justifies the importance of integrative, competency-based, and cultural studies approaches in its implementation. The article recommends effective methods and techniques that serve to form national musical thinking in teaching music theory, develop musical and aesthetic taste in students, awareness of national identity, and respect for cultural heritage.
