Neuroscience in Education: Anthropological Approach
Annotatsiya
The paper discusses an anthropological approach to pre-service teacher training. The authors examine the practice of the Institute of Education and Humanities (Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University), which forms the “core” of the regional ecosystem for psychological and pedagogical education in neuroscience. Neuroscience is becoming an interdisciplinary research field. The interest in it is driven by cultural transformations and peculiarities of integrated strategies for designing educational environments that contribute to the emergence of a new-format teacher (Budarina et al., 2022). The aim of this study is to theoretically justify the potential of an anthropological approach to pre-service teacher training, with a view to integrating a designed module on neuroscience into pre-service teacher education programs. This module is considered to be a valuable resource for implementing the anthropological mission of modern education, which is currently in demand. To achieve this goal, the authors analyzed relevant scientific materials, examined pre-service teaching practices, and conducted interviews with key stakeholders. Based on these findings, practical recommendations were developed for designing a neuroscience module that incorporates the best practices identified during the study. The results of this research can be applied in higher education institutions to improve the quality of teacher training by creating an educational environment that fosters the personal and professional development of pre-service teachers.
