Development of a screw conveyor with an improved design and methods for increasing its operational performance

The article describes the structure, operation, and application areas of existing screw conveyors. Similarly, information is provided on the widespread use of screw conveyors across mechanical engineering (machine building), ferrous metallurgy, the chemical industry, building materials, the light and food industries, and several other industrial sectors. It is extensively written that screw conveyors stand out from other conveyors due to their simple design, reliability, and ease of maintenance, and details regarding their various designs and application areas are also widely covered. The designs of various constructions and recently obtained patents are reviewed, and their shortcomings are highlighted. The newly patented improved screw conveyor is fully described. Furthermore, the article identifies changes in the performance (productivity) of the improved screw conveyor design as a function of screw rotational speed and product loading, determined through experimental research. The article concludes with the results, conclusion, and recommendations.
