Honeymoon Tourism: A Systematic Literature Review and Future Research Direction
Annotatsiya
ABSTRACT The research aims to explore evolution, thematic focus, and emerging patterns within the scholarly discourse on honeymoon tourism and offering a roadmap for future research directions in this niche yet growing segment of tourism studies. This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) and uses bibliometric visualization techniques to review the development and trends of honeymoon tourism research from 2000 to 2025. This study employs bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer and RStudio for data analysis. The analysis reveals the emergence of several theoretical frameworks applied to honeymoon tourism, including Stimulus–Organism–Response (S–O–R) theory, planned behavior theory, co‐creation theory, push‐pull theory, and tourist gaze theory. Five dominant research clusters were identified, including (1) Honeymoon destination selection, (2) Honeymoon tourism attributes, (3) Honeymooners' motivations, (4) Wedding and honeymoon tourism integration, and (5) Honeymoon tourism market trends. The findings highlight growing scholarly interest in cross‐cultural perspectives, luxury tourism, and sustainability in the context of honeymoon experiences.
