Abstract Background and aims Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability, death and high healthcare costs among adults worldwide. To study of the course and consequences of cerebral stroke in Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan, based on registry data Methods To study the prevalence, clinical course, and consequences of stroke in Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan, an in-depth study was conducted from 2021 to 2023. To understand the general patterns of development and spread of stroke, the study was conducted in accordance with a specially developed program using various research databases and information sources. Results At the initial stage of the study, we analyzed the gender distribution and percentage of patients who experienced their first stroke in ecologically disadvantaged regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan-Kegolei, Muynak, and Amu Darya districts and the city of Nukus from 2021 to 2023. The results show that a total of 1,329 patients with stroke were registered over 3 years, of which 725(54.6%) were men and 604(45.4%) were women. The study compared districts with different environmental and climatic conditions, as well as the capital, Nukus. In the city of Nukus, 985 patients were diagnosed over 3 years, of which 506(51.4%) were men and 479(48.6%) were women. In the city of Nukus, the total number of strokes was 431(43.7%) ischemic stroke, 415(42.1%) and undifferentiated stroke 139(14.2%). Conclusions This is due to Nukus's geographic location and population density.
