Annotatsiya

Translation is not only the process of changing words from one language into another, but also the transfer of culture, values, and meanings. Every language reflects the traditions, beliefs, and worldview of the people who speak it. Because of this, translators often face cultural challenges while translating texts. One of the most important challenges is cultural stereotypes. Cultural stereotypes are simplified and generalized ideas about a particular group of people, nation, gender, or culture. These stereotypes may influence the translator's understanding of the source text and affect translation decisions. Sometimes translators unconsciously adapt the text according to their own cultural assumptions, which can change the original meaning or create bias. This article discusses how cultural stereotypes influence translation decisions, the problems they create, and possible ways to reduce their negative impact in translation practice.
